Cricket Leinster is delighted to announce Sprint Coatings Limited as the new sponsor of all Women’s cricket across the province.
Sprint Coatings is Ireland’s largest sub-contract company in the field of powder coatings, principally supplying the residential and commercial construction industries. You can visit their website here.
As the bedrock of female cricket in the country, Cricket Leinster has ambitious plans to significantly grow participation in Women’s & Girls cricket over the next 2/3 years including a 50% increase in both participating clubs and teams over this period.
Isobel Joyce is leading this work in her capacity as Women’s & Girls Development Officer and has already introduced a series of new initiatives and programmes including:
‘Simply Social’ - which is friendly cricket for adult beginners
‘Give it a Go’ - which outlines how clubs can run open days for girls to come down to their club and try cricket out.
We have also now established a fourth Women's cricket league which will facilitate increased participation and more clubs embrace the game.
Speaking about this new sponsorship, Philip Smith, General Manager (Cricket Leinster) commented as follows:
‘We are delighted to have secured a sponsor with the pedigree and reputation of Sprint Coatings. The support of Sprint Coatings is especially welcome at this challenging time as we look to grow and develop our Women’s & Girls programme over the next 2/3 years. The growth of female participation is one of our core strategic priorities and this investment will help accelerate our implementation work.'
On behalf of Sprint Coatings, Alan Maginnis (Managing Director) commented as follows:
‘Whilst we are conscious that this is a challenging time for everyone, we are strategically committed to providing support to the development of cricket across Leinster and in particular, we are very proud to be associated with the Women’s Programme.’
As part of this sponsorship, Sprint Coatings will have naming rights to all Cricket Leinster Women’s League and Cup competitions.
This is a hugely exciting development for female cricket in Leinster.
