Table Cricket Staff Training – January 28th/ 29th 2020
On January 28th and 29th, Cricket Leinster delivered a Table Cricket staff-training course to the carers, volunteers and staff at the St Vincent’s Centre, Navan Road regarding how to deliver Table Cricket sessions to both adults and children who are residents of the centre.
St. Vincent’s have been taking part in our two on-going monthly Dublin City tournaments that take place at two different venues: Ballyfermot Sport and Fitness Centre and the Cabra Parkside Centre. Overall, we had 26 staff attend the course over the two days. The 28th of January saw carers from the children’s division attend whilst the 29th was catered for carers and volunteers from the adult division.
Dublin City Sports Inclusion and Integration Officer Lisa Kelly & Nuala O Donovan have really been driving this programme forward. “It’s fantastic to up-skill staff in the centres across Dublin City. All carers, volunteers and staff can now deliver Table Cricket at the centre which will drive the programme forward” while Nuala O Donavan added “the tournaments to date have been absolutely brilliant and to take it a step further now by training staff at the centres can only grow the game.”
Well done to all carers, staff and volunteers at the St. Vincent’s centre – an enjoyable couple of days for everyone involved. I think I can safely say on behalf of all the helpers, coaches, carers and staff, that this is certainly a programme to be repeated at other centres across the city.
Cricket Leinster would like to thank Dublin City Council and The Lord Taveners for their continued support of these programmes. We would also like to thank Lisa Kelly and Nuala O’ Donovan and all the carers from each centre for driving this programme forward.
