Ahead of tomorrow evening’s CL Women’s Committee AGM, the final award which will be confirmed in advance of the CL Awards Night and Gala Dinner has been announced by the outgoing committee.
Terenure’s Sarah Prendergast has earned the award for the Most Improved Player in Women’s Competitions in the 2023 season.
Sarah Prendergast after her century at the end of May
Prendergast’s prodigious season began with just 5 appearances in Women’s Competitions to her name, however she quickly made her mark on the 2023 campaign, as she became the youngest centurion in Terenure CC history with her 101 from just 49 balls against Mullingar on June 1st.
That knock proved to be a springboard for the teenager’s season, as she proved critical to Terenure’s promotion charge in Division 3, adding another two half-centuries, both unbeaten, finishing the season with a total of 337 runs in 9 innings, at an average of 67.4 across her 10 appearances in Women’s Competitions this season.
Congratulations to Sarah from all at Cricket Leinster, her award will be presented at the CL Awards Night & Gala Dinner in the Mansion House on January 19th!
