We have been informed by CricHQ, the owners of Total Cricket Scorer [TCS], that they are no longer supporting the eScoring app on iPads and as of this week it is not possible to send Live Scores using an iPad. This was something that had been feared might happen ever since TCS was bought out by CricHQ but it had been hoped that we could at least survive to the end of this season without disruption.
The TCS iPad app can still be used to score matches, to send in results and [subject to certain authorisations being met] to update scoresheets on the Match Centre. We are advised that persons using the latest version of the TCS on PC [laptops] should be able to send Live Scores.
This is clearly an unfortunate development as the use of Live Scores for matches every weekend has proved very popular with the cricket community in Leinster. Hopefully we will be able to continue with seem level of service and we will do everything we can to make this happen. But this is something beyond our control. Needless to say we are already looking at options for next season.
The Match Centre will of course continue to receive updates from players and spectators. What it means, however, is that there will be an even greater onus on those attending to send in scores via tweets, especially for those matches previously covered by Live Scores.
