The final league structure for the Women’s Competitions for 2014 has been agreed. An eight team D1 league has been formed with The Hills accepting an invitation to compete at the top level. This is a very positive move from The Hills and provides a better structure for the league.
A sixth team has also been added to the Pilkington [40 Over] Competition from the Fingal area with a coming together of players from Rush and The Hills.
Finally, Greystones have entered a women’s team for the first time and it will compete in WD3.
In all there are [22] teams competing in leagues and cups next season. The league structures for 2014 are as follows:
RSA [Pilkington] WLC Pembroke, Merrion, North Kildare, Leinster, YMCA, Fingal.
RSA WD1 Pembroke, Merrion, Leinster, North Kildare, YMCA, Malahide, Clontarf and The Hills
RSA WD2 Railway, Merrion II, Clontarf II, The Hills II, Leinster II, Rush, Malahide II
RSA WD3 Railway II, Greystones, Rush II, Phoenix, North Kildare II, Dublin University, Pembroke II
The fixtures for the Pilkington and WD1 have been set centrally and communicated to clubs who should now proceed with making their fixtures for WD2 and WD3
