The Leprechaun Cup for primary schools starts off the new season with the largest number of contestants ever and a new sponsor.
Precision Electric are the new sponsors of a new and expanded Leprechaun Cup. The sponsorship will provide for additional coaching, more schools visits and new cricket equipment for schools in the Cup and for schools that are just started up and may participate in future years. The Leprechauns Cup, which has grown steadily since it started in the mid 1990s, now consists of 38 teams from all over Dublin and spreading even into the surrounding counties.
Speaking of its new sponsorship Karl Reid from Precision Electric said 'We are very excited to be involved with bringing cricket to those of a young age and we have no doubt that some of you who are involved in playing in the Leprechaun Cup will one day wear the green jersey of Ireland. But most importantly we hope you enjoy the fun and friendship we know that participation in the game will bring.'
The competition was launched at Castleknock NS by Irish international cricketer Kevin O'Brien.
