As in 2011, we will be keeping an eye on who the top run scorers (and wicket takers) are in the Open Competitions - those leagues and divisions that are open for all to play in.
It doesn't matter which level you play in, whether it's as an Ireland international in Division 1, or a Taverner in Division 14, your performances will be compared.
It will be the turn of the bowlers later on today, but first we look at those who wield the willow. The qualifying mark this week is 200 runs, ans 28 players have passed that mark. The stats of all 28 are displayed below.
Top of the pile is a legend of the game, John Andrews. Currently thumping the ball around for North County 2nds and 3rds, John has managed to squeeze more cricket than most into the season so far. Although only averaging 34, he has already scored 409 runs, a total containing four 50's . This total doesn't include the unfinished Middle Cup game against Sandyford - more runs to be added to the Andrews total.
Second spot is taken by Badal Kumar, who plies his trade on Leinster 4ths and 5ths. A quiet weekend just gone (0 and 13) has slowed him down, but a meteoric start to the season, with scores of 46, 11, 84, 56, 76, 57 and 31 helped his total to 374
Third and fourth place belong to too well known names who had successful bakn holiday weekends. Eoghan Delany scored a century as Dublin Uinversity 1 beat Leinster 2 on Monday. Eoghan has now scored 369 runs at 73.8 for Trinity. Robin Kelly has has something of an indifferent start to the season with scores of 0, 20, 26, 2, 39, 27 and 27. Ramprakash-esque in his inability to kick on. All that changed at the weekend, with a quite brilliant 147 ball 219 for Pembroke 1 against Rush 1. Kelly's total now stands at 360.
The highest average of those who have scored 200 runs is Andrew Balbirnie of Pembroke (238 runs at 79.33), whilst last year's top run scorer - John Anderson of Merrion is lurking in 13th spot with 237 at 59.25
