Cricket Leinster is delighted to announce the impending arrival of a cricket team from San Francisco who will commence a tour in Leinster from Friday next 21st July.
There are approximately 25 cricket clubs & teams in the Bay Area with this touring side made up from a wide pick of those clubs travelling under the name of the Bay Area Beavers CC.
For most it will be their first visit to Ireland.
One of the organisers will be well known in the club cricket community here in Ireland which is Lee Bradley who previously played for both Laois CC and Phoenix CC.
Lee (who is the son of our former President Roland Bradley and Laois CC Treasurer Liz Bradley) is married with two sons and living in West Portal. His wife Stacy and his two sons, Max and Felix, will also be on tour with them.
Many of the players will have non-playing family members accompanying them.
The fixtures are as follows:
Sunday 23rd July: Bay Area Beavers CC v Laois CC at The Abbey (Stradbally) with a 1pm start.
Wednesday 26th July: Bay Area Beavers CC v Phoenix CC in the Park with a 1.30pm start.
Friday 28th July: Bay Area Beavers CC v Merrion CC at Anglesea Road with a 1.30pm start.
The touring side are also planning to visit the Cork & Kerry area with a match against Co Kerry CC on Monday 31st July and Cork Harlequins the following day (Tuesday 1st August).
We encourage anyone who might be close to any of the venues to come along and give our US visitors a Céad Míle Fáilte!
It also promises to be a lovely family reunion for the Bradley’s who are the essence of a club cricket family.
