Between the weather and the number of cup matches there is not much change in the leagues from last weekend. Balbriggan continue to lead D3 but with only a few matches played. Laois have surged to top place in D4 with four wins out of five. A feat that is beign closely followed by Laois II and Laois III who both have four out of six wins to maintain a strong challenge in D5 and D11 respectively.
YMCA III now have a clear lead in D6 having secured an important win over Merrion IV. Divisions 8, 9 and 10 are unchanged with Merrion V, Clontarf IV and Mullingar II all leading with three wins out of three. Sandyford II are top in D10 [with few matches completed] and Railway U IV look to be running away with D11 [five wins and a NR out of six]. Greystones, Ring Commons and Clontarf VII stay top in D12 - D14.
The outstanding batting performances of the weekend were Kenny Carroll's 155* for Railway IIs against Pembroke III in D4 and R Meray's 134 in Laois's massive total of 352 against Malahide II in the same league. In the latter match M O'Brien led a spirited response with 95*.
The top bowling performance of the weekend was Asran Khan's 6/21 in 8.3 overs for Dublin University II to bowl out Dundalk for 116 in a win in D9. M Hogan helped secure a win for Terenure II in taking 6/26 against Clonee in D6. Mention shoud also be amde of another young bowler, H Balbiernie who got 5/9 to dismiss Civil Service for 81 against Pembroke III in D3. Finally, Belvedere II can thank Y Jarwal for his 5/40 in their win against Rush II also in D6.
