Cricket Leinster are delighted with the progress made in the Wexford area, largely down to the important development work carried out by Herbie Honohan, Peter Hudson and Dermot Rafter on behalf of Cricket Leinster and Sports Active Wexford.
Over the past two weeks Naomi Scott-Hayward, Cricket Leinster's Diversity, Inclusion and Participation Manager, carried out coach education for teachers in the Wexford area with the cricket development team in Wexford. Cricket Leinster are was delighted to help organise cricket equipment for schools in Wexford through funding from the Her Moves programme in Sports Active Wexford and Cricket Leinster.
These equipment packs from Ed Sports are branded to show the co-funded nature of the programme and has been coupled with localised teacher coach education delivered in Blackwater National School and CBS Wexford to a total of 26 teachers from across 11 schools. Providing schools with equipment, localised training options and our Cricket4Dummies resource creates sustainable development to increase participation in the area.
The schools who attended the training were:
Loreto Gorey Primary
Tagoat NS
CBS NS
Ballymurn NS, Wexford
Blackwater NS
Kilmuckridge NS
Curracloe NS
Gusserane NS
Balaghkeene NS
Piercetown NS
Rosslare NS
We'd like to thank Sports Active Wexford, Her Moves and the two schools who hosted the training CBS Wexford and Blackwater NS.
