At long last all the scorecards for the 2011 season are in, and we can now have a look at who did what. Over the next few months, we'll be looking at each division and each club, and a few other bits and bobs besides, but it all starts today with a look at who has the honour of being the leading runscorer in the LCU Open Comps this year.
The Top 30 are as below, a list with many of the top batsmen in the province included. Top of the pile though is John Anderson of Merrion, with the excellent return of 888 runs at 52.24, a haul that did much to help Merrion lift the Leinster Senior Cup this year.
The Top 5 is completed by Alex Mathew of Dundrum (playing for Dundrum 1sts and 2nds), Abdullah Hafiz of Railway Union (mainly for Railway 2nds and 3rds), Asim Nazir of Leinster (split pretty equally between Leinster 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths and 7ths), and Barry Archer, scoring all his 795 runs for Balbriggan 1sts.
In addition to these, there were also 10 players who scored at least 500 runs at an average of over 50. Step forward Anderson, Andre Botha (Terenure), Tom Fisher (Railway Union), Tariq Islam (Laois), Simmi Singh, (Old Belvedere), Sean Tomlinson (Railway Union), Josh Reeves (North County), Rashad Ejaz (Mullingar), Raj Valson (Balbriggan) and Joe Byrne (Leinster)
There will be plenty of analysis still to come - if any one wants to request anything in particular, please get in touch. The bowling will come tomorrow
