The Hills 1 v YMCA 1 at The Vineyard
The Hills won the toss and batted. Alana Ryan top scored with 36 from 43 balls. Cliodhna O'Reardon not out 22 stared with the bat for The Hills. However the YMCA bowling was very tight. Robyn Lewis 3-21, Vanshika Shukla 2-22 and Lucy O'Reilly 1-13 took the wickets. The Hills making 83 for 6 from their 20 overs.
YMCA went about their target with relish. Gaby Lewis went early for 9. Sarah Forbes finished 18 not out. However star of the evening was Jennifer Gray who opened for YMCA hitting 50 not out from 25 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. YM had made 87 for the loss of just 1 wicket. The Hills bowlers tried hard Hannah Corcoran the only wicket taker with 1-15. YMCA eased to a 9 wicket victory.
Merrion 1 v Clontarf 1 at Anglesea Road
The home side won the toss and batted. The lost Sadhbh Breslin for 2 when the score was 27. From then on it was the Matilda Lugg and Isobel Joyce show. Joyce made 69 from 50 balls with 10 fours before she was out. Her partner Matilda Lugg was in imperious form hitting 107 not out from 67 balls hitting a huge 17 fours. A partnership of 173. Merrion had raced to 204 for 2 from their allotted 20 overs. All Clontarf's bowlers suffered. Anna Kirk did well with 2-38 from her 4 overs.
Clontarf had an uphill task but went about their task positively. Tess Maritz fell early for 6. Una Raymond-Hoey and Kerry Tomlinson brought the score to 70 when Tomlinson went for a well made 20. Lara Maritz made 16 when she was run out by Morrissey, the score was 113. Aoife Brennan joined Raymond-Hoey and he two batted to the end Brennan 10 not out and Una Raymond-Hoey finishing an excellent knock 76 not out from 57 balls hitting 8 fours. A valiant effort in defeat. Some great batting on show here with Merrion running out winners by 72 runs.
Leinster 1 v Malahide 1 at Observatory Lane
Malahide won the toss and batted. Caoimhe McCann opened with Niamh Walsh. McCann fell for 26 when the score had reached 35. Aisling McCormack joined Walsh and the pair brought the score to 77 when McCormack went for 11. Anna Kerrison joined Walsh and the pair batted to end of the 20 overs. Anna Kerrison finished not out 26. Niamh Walsh anchored the innings well finishing 44 not out from 44 balls. Malahide had posted 131 for 2 in their 20 overs. The Leinster bowlers bowled tightly with Sophie MacMahon 1-18 and Ruby Shirt 1-24 the wicket takers.
Valmai Gee and Rebecca Stokell opened for Leinster and Stokell fell early for 0. Ellen Ridgeway was next in. The score reached 31 when Gee went for 10. Sophie MacMahon settled things down. Leinster progressed to 71 before Ridgeway fell for 25. Isabel Saeed Maguire came and went for 0. Ruby Shirt joined MacMahon and the got up to 93 where Shirt was run out. Things were getting tight now. Vanessa Kelada and Sophie MacMahon brought the score to 105 when MacMahon fell for a well made 47. Ava Canning joined Vanessa Kelada and the pair got Leinster narrowly home with 2 balls to spare. Ava Canning not out 3 from 10 balls with Vanessa Kelada not out 22 from 20 balls. Malahide's bowlers were excellent but just failed to do the business. Sarah Condron 1-19, Isobel McCormack 1-32, Anna Kerrison 2-14 the wicket takers along with 2 run outs. An exciting victory for Leinster by 4 wickets from the third last ball.
